Coming from a christian family who were always very musically driven I guess its no surprise I ended up being a worship leader (which I thank God he has blessed me with the ability to do) at the church I attend in Paisley. On my way to playing the guitar and fronting the band I spent time in my teenage years playing the drums and then the bass guitar which I still love to play about on from now and again. I started writing my own music in my early twenties but never really tried to make anything of it until about 3 years ago in my late twenties when I got my head down and really started to feel God giving me the music and the words to really make an impact.
Over the years I have been influenced by a lot of different bands. On the christian front I have always loved the music of Delirious and more recently stuff by David Crowder and Hillsong United. Outside them U2 have always been a big favourite as well so you may hear some little influences from these bands leaking through on occasion.
As well as being the worship leader at MCC (Mossvale Community Church)I am heavily involved with the youth ministry as one of the leaders and also involved in other areas of the church as well.

I don’t know what synopsis means but here are a few facts about me just in case you wanted to know a wee bit more.
Here’s the kit I play
Kick Drum- Pearl Export
Toms - 10” 12” 14” are Pearl too but I recently got a big signia 18” beaster which sounds amazing (ta Sooz)
Snares - 14” Cabria and Export 14” which I’ve got tuned really nice and high.
Cymbals - Zildjians all the way hallelujah
Pedals - Pearl double kick
Sticks - Weckls, Gadds, Fusions and I recently got those Dennis Chambers sticks but I don’t see those lasting me to long.
Percussion - LP bongos, and an amazing djembe drum that I got from the dodgy on Sauchiehall street (what a guy)
Bands that I enjoy listening to are Green Day, Third Day, Counting Crows, Rage Against the Machine, David Crowder Band, Foo Fighters, Delirious, I could go on for a while but really anything with a bit of passion in it. That’s why I like playing in LMO, the songs are about something I’m really passionate about and they actually mean something to us as a group and in my opinion that’s what makes the difference between a great band and an average band: a good looking drummer, sorry I mean “passion”
Other than that I’m almost out my Samurai sword phase and I’m presently in my harmonica phase, which is fun, though I do still suck at the harmonica but I will improve so watch this space for harmonica solos in the next album (eh Peter?)

My taste in music is slightly different from the rest as I come from a heavy metal/rock background when I was younger, bands such as metallica, Guns and roses were great and individual guitar players like Steve Vie and Stevie Ray Vaughan were the guys I looked up to. Since I got back to my Christian roots my taste in music has changed a bit and bands like Delirious and United Live have been good to listen to.
I seem to have a list as long as my arm when it comes to my instuments so I’ll try and talk you through some of the stuff I have. My main guitar is an Ibanez RG 750 with Dimarzio`s, which I play through my Marshall JCM 900 100watt and Marshall 1960A Cab. The pedals I use are a Korgtoneworks AXG1000, Ibanez Tubescreamer, Boss DD3, Boss Chorus CE-2, Ibanez compressor/limiter CPL, and finally a Boss Acoustic Simulator ACZ. I also use another Ibanez RG 750 and a Fender Stratocaster fat 50 pickups.

I remember when I was seven or eight I had to go with my mum and older sister to meet her new piano teacher and arrange lessons for her. I got really excited about it and was desperate to start playing the piano as well, but Mrs. Cook (the teacher) said she wouldn’t teach me till I was nine. Gutted.
Nevertheless, when my ninth birthday came off I trundled (very excitedly, if a bit nervously) to Mrs. Cook’s house to play the piano. I guess I haven’t really ever stopped. I passed the Grade 7 exam in 2001 and shortly afterwards gave up on my formal training. (Think my teacher got sick of me not practising!)
Other than that, I also played the accordion for 2-3 years, and the clarinet for about 2 years. I might get an accordion again actually – they’re quite fun.
I didn’t start singing much (not into a microphone anyway) until I was about fourteen, when my brother invited me to sing backing vocals for him while he led worship at church. I also took some lessons a year or two later for about 6 months. However, I am about to start having singing lessons again so that I stop being so lazy about it!
Musical influences include: 7 years of classical training! Too many teenage years listening to boy bands – I’m embarrassed to say. David Crowder Band, James Mayer, Sonicflood, Delirious, Hillsongs United, Coldplay, Counting Crows.
Other exciting news: I’m getting MARRIED!!!!! To our drummer, Dave:) Also just starting 2nd year of uni – doing accounting at Paisley. Just found out we’re doing a new album in the winter. (Maybe I’ll do more than one song!)
